Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery
Bernard Montgomery was the most well-known British general of World War 2. He was most famous for his victory at the Battle of El Alamein, which turned the tide in the North Africa campaign against the Axis forces. Although a great field general, his perceived arrogant demeanor rubbed many Allied officers the wrong way. "Monty" and Gen. Patton's rivalry was well known.
